I am such a sap, myself. My son cannot even bring me a macaroni necklace without me turning on the water works. Anything special my kids make just for me falls under the category of sentimental in my world, but here are a few gifts almost guaranteed to make mommy shed a tear... or two.

Mom's Coupon Books:
This is a very simple, but very sweet gift that just involves time spent together but simple as it is, it is also deceptively sweet. A coupon good for one long hug from a boy who tends to shy away from cuddling can make any mom start to tear up.
Love Messages:
Hang a small chalkboard and write love messages to mom, take photos and put them in a scrapbook the child decorates themselves. It is simple and inexpensive, but mom will cherish it forever.
Hand Print Memory Keeper:
Plaster of Paris can be used as a mold a mold for your children’s hand prints and footprints to create memorable keepsakes.
Step 1: Pour liquid plaster of Paris into dish.
Step 2: Assist your child with quickly pressing their hand or foot directly into the plaster without wriggling. Wash immediately.
Step 3: Let the plaster dry and turn it out of the dish.
Step 4: Paint it or use a marker to indicate the child’s name and age or the date you made the casting.
Step 5: Make a hole in the top with a dowel used in still wet plaster to hang on the wall.
Step 6: If she is not crying yet, add this message to the card:
I miss you when we're not together
I'm growing up so fast
See how big I've gotten
Since you saw me last?
As I grow, I'll change a lot,
The years will fly right by.
You'll wonder how I grew so quick
When and where and why?
So look upon this handprint (these handprints)
That's hanging on your wall.
And memories will come back of me,
When I was very small.
